State opera, Albertina

The Vienna Opera is one of the most outstanding magnificent buildings on the Ringstrasse and is one of the three most beautiful opera houses in the world. At the same time it is the pride of the local music scene and the venue of the famous Opera Ball. Learn more about the Ringstrasse construction and the tragic building history of the opera. Then continue to the Albertina, one of Vienna's most visited museums, which houses one of the most important collections of graphic art in the world.

Since 2007, in addition to the extensive graphic collection, the Albertina has housed the loan of the private Batliner Collection - a permanent exhibition on classical modernism from Monet bis Picasso.

Joseph square, Augustinian church, National library
Emperor Joseph II on horseback and depicted as a Roman emperor: all the rulers of the Holy Roman Empire liked to see themselves in line with the Roman Caesars. The square is surrounded by the Habsburg Court Church, the Augustinian Church, and the National Library with its famous State Hall and Redoubt Rooms.
